Mission & Vision Statements
Our Vision
Foundation Enfant Jesus, a nonprofit, non-denominational organization, envisions developing a culturally sensitive educational program, taking into consideration a holistic approach to the education of each child as well as the adults within the community. We aim to provide a nurturing and loving environment where learning is supported both for children and adults in their life-long journey of growth and discovery. Our aim is to provide a safety net for risk-taking and self actualization. We promote the inherent rights, education, and well-being of all children within their families, schools, and communities.
Our philosophy of human development recognizes the mind and body as an interactive system. As such, pressures put upon any one part of the system affect the total functioning of the individual – mentally, emotionally, and physically. Likewise, nourishment of any part enhances functioning at all levels.
Mission
Our mission is based on the multi-faceted struggles that the majority of the children and their families are confronting in very poor, remote regions where most of the parents are impoverished farmers. Education, nutrition and health care are essential components of our mission and cannot be ignored if the families and communities are to succeed. The Foundation’s aim is to create model programs that consolidate communities and utilize educational strategies and structures to strengthen and support families by establishing the following in each community:
- Provide daycare, preschool, elementary and secondary schooling to children in the region
- Vocational training with a strong agricultural component
- Promote strong family values
- Incorporate counseling and support to the family unit
- Instill community participation via dancing, school, music, sports and theater activity and competition
- Establish a literacy program
- Provide basic medical care along with education, nutrition, and preventive services
- Assist the populace to establish self–sustainability while developing and improving their respective communities
